A Dialogue on Distortion
We worked with Providence College Galleries (PCG) on a printed catalogue for the two-person exhibition A Dialogue on Distortion: Graham McDougal & Bayne Peterson.
The exhibition featured two artists whose making methodologies distort, exaggerate and expressionistically manipulate fabrication processes. Our approach was to create a type-based cover design that used the technique of dragging text across the scanner bed during the scan process in order to create a wobbly, distorted effect. For the inside spreads we amplified the work as much as possible, opting for full-bleed image spreads without the interruption of captions and instead created a complete index of all pieces included in the exhibition at the back of the catalogue.
A Dialogue on Distortion: Graham McDougal & Bayne Peterson was curated by Jamilee Lacy, Executive Director, Frye Art Museum.
